Rohit Bhargava is a second generation South Asian entrepreneur, co-founder of Melbourne based startup One Future Football (1FF) and is listed in 2023's top 100 Innovators of Australia.
Rohit's family moved a lot during his childhood, and he shares his growing appreciation of the struggle migrants experience maintaining culture and connection whilst living overseas.
I think that over time I've gotten a greater appreciation for how difficult it's been for my parents, especially as migrant parents to try and stay connected to Indian culture and roots.Rohit Bhargava
Rohit shares his favourite go to sweet treats during the festive season, from his grandmother’s gajar ka halwa, to his early memories of going to shops with his grandfather to pick up fresh jalebi and eating it for breakfast, only to be told that the extremely sweet jalebi might not be the best way to start the morning!
I only found out recently that jalebi isn't a breakfast dish!
This Diwali, Rohit is looking forward to his mother’s home cooked meals, going out for a meal to an Indian restaurant with friends and possibly giving the Indian version of fairy bread a go!
